Setting up and configuring LOQMail Private Email
for Windows Vista
Mail
After you
download and
run the LOQMail installer you will be given the choice to run the
LOQMail Automatic Configuration tool. This tool was designed to setup
popular email clients with one click.
Once the AutoConfig (Automatic Configuration Tool) opens up you fill in the required fields, click
Configure and you are ready to go.
Manual Setup:
If you prefer to setup Windows Mail manually or you wish to edit your Private
Email Account preferences you can use the following steps.
- From the Windows Mail
Toolbar select ‘Tools’ then click ‘Accounts’
- If you need to edit an existing
private email account simply select the account from the left hand side and
click ‘Properties’ from the right hand side.
- If you need to create a new
private email account click ‘Add’ from the right hand side
- Select ‘E‐mail
Account’ then click ‘Next’
- Type your name in the ‘Display Name’
field and click ‘Next’
- Type your private email address in the ‘E‐mail Address’
field and click ‘Next’
- In the ‘Setup E‐mail Servers’ window fill in the
following information
- Incoming Server Type – POP3
- Incoming E‐mail Server ‐ 127.0.0.1
- Outgoing E‐mail Server ‐ 127.0.0.1
- Outgoing Server Requires Authentication – Yes (Check this box)
Then click ‘Next’
- Type in your full ‘E‐mail User Name’ and ‘Password’ for your private email
account and click ‘Next’
To complete the setup process you can send a private email message to yourself
from and to your private email account.
