Send & Receive Timeouts
Mozilla Thunderbird 3 - Adjusting Send & Receive Timeouts
This should work for all versions of Mozilla Thunderbird 3.
Check for New Messages Timer
On the menu bar go to
‘Tools -> Account Settings’
.
Select Server Settings for your LOQMail account.
Change the time setting of
‘Check for new messages every
x
minutes’
to 10.
Close the dialog box by clicking the
‘OK’
button.
TCP Time Out
On the menu bar go to
‘Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> General Tab’
(usually opens by default).
Select
‘Server Settings’
for your LOQMail account.
Click on the
‘Config Editor’
button.
A warning will pop up
‘This might void your warranty’
.
Click the
‘I'll be careful, I promise’
button.
In the dialog box that opens type
‘mailnews.tcptimeout’
in the filter.
That setting should appear. Double click on the setting.
A dialog box to change the setting value should appear.
That setting should appear. Double click on the setting.
Change the setting to
‘600’
(10 minutes) and click the
‘OK’
button.
Close the Config editor dialog by clicking the
‘OK’
button.
Close the options dialog box by clicking the
‘OK’
button.
Restart Thunderbird.
