Microsoft Outlook Setup Guide Setting up and configuring LOQMail Private
Email for Microsoft Outlook (2003 - 2007)
LOQMail Automatic Configuration Tool:
After you download and run the LOQMail installer (Get
it here) you will
be given the choice to run the LOQMail Automatic Configuration tool.
This tool was designed to setup popular email clients with one click.
Once the Automatic Configuration tool opens up, you fill in the required
fields, click Configure and you are ready to go.
Manual Setup:
If you prefer to setup Outlook manually or you wish to edit your Private Email
Account preferences you can use the following steps.
- From the Outlook Toolbar
select "Tools" and "Account Settings"
- From the "Email" tab select
"New" and then click "Next"
- Select "Manually configure server settings
or additional server types" and click "Next"
- Select Internet "E-mail"
and click "Next"
- Fill in the required "User Information", "Server
Information" and "Logon Information" then click "More
Settings"
- Under the "General" tab give your Private Email Account a name
- Under the "Outgoing Server" tab select "My outgoing server
(SMTP) requires authentication"
Your company may have certain VPN requirements
that go through specific ports. Ports configurations can be found and
edited under the "
Advanced" tab. To complete the setup process click
"
Finish" then "
Close" and test the account by simply sending yourself
a private email message from and to your private email account. Outlook
also has a "
Test Account Settings" button under the "
Internet E-mail
Settings" section.
