Mac Mail
Setting up and configuring LOQMail Private Email
for Mac Mail (Mac OSx or higher)
Manual Setup:
If you want to setup a new Private Email Account using Mac Mail or
want to edit an already existing account then you can use the following
steps.
- Open Mail and choose ‘Preferences’ from the Mail menu.
- Click the ‘Accounts’ icon in the
‘Mail Preferences’ window.
- Click ‘Create Account’ (Plus sign at bottom left in the
active window).
- Fill in your full name, Private Email Address and password then
click 'Continue'.
- Select 'POP' for account type and give it a description like 'Private
Email'.
- Type '127.0.0.1' as the incoming mail server.
- Type your full Private Email Address as the User Name and your
password then click 'Continue'.
- Outgoing mail server should have a description such as 'Private
Email Outgoing'.
- Outgoing mail server is '127.0.0.1'.
- Select 'Use Authentication' and use your Private Email Address
as the user name, your password then click 'Continue'.
- In the Account Summary window check 'Take account online' and
click 'Create'.
- Under 'Account Information' go to 'Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)' and select 'Edit Server List' and type '2025' in
the Server port field then click 'OK'.
- Under 'Advanced' tab type '2110' as incoming port.
The details:
- Account Type – POP3
- Description – Private Email (Any account description you
want)
- Email Address – name@domain.extension (Your Private Email
Address)
- Full Name – John Doe
(This is what the recipient will
see when receiving an email from you)
- Incoming Mail Server
– 127.0.0.1 (Incoming Port 2110)
- Outgoing Mail Server – 127.0.0.1 (Outgoing Port 2025)
To complete the setup process you can
send a private email message to yourself from and to your private
email account.
