George Sidman, Chairman and Chief Technology Architect
George Sidman is a proven entrepreneur with a 27-year track record in launching
and growing successful software and Internet companies. He has prior successful
experience as the founder of five other technology start-ups, and as the
founder, Architect, and developer of two sports facilities. He has participated
in private and public offerings, and is experienced in leading high technology
development teams and product-to-market software successes. He is a recognized
authority on complex large-scale object databases, computer-based Intellectual
Property management, and a public speaker on emerging computer and security
technologies.
His technology experience spans large-scale library and information automation,
commercial ISP services, and Internet security and privacy technologies.
He is the inventor of the WebLOQ technology, participates on the company’s
management team and provides leadership for technology innovation.
Neal Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer
Neal has over 30 years of professional management, marketing and sales
experience and a solid technology background. He has participated in the
startup, financing and management of several Internet and software companies.
Neal’s career spans 11 years at IBM in management, sales and training positions
and management at Wang Laboratories, Phillips Information Systems and Hexxis
Corporation.
Between 1987 and 1996 Neal was involved in starting and managing a number
of golf and ski resort development enterprises including Senior VP of Marketing
and Sales at Snowbird Corporation, Managing Director of Pisa International,
Inc., President of Private Clubs International in Tokyo, Japan, and as
the U.S. Managing Director of the Gary Player Club. Prior to participating
in the founding of WebLOQ, Neal was President and CEO of Virtual Visits,
Inc., the premier on-line multimedia Web Site developer for many of the
nation’s most recognized golf resorts, spas, ski resorts and real estate
communities, and a sales consultant to Internet companies.
Governor Tommy Thompson, Director
Tommy Thompson is the former secretary of the U.S. Department Health and
Human Services and former Governor of Wisconsin. During his 14 years as
governor, he focused on revitalizing Wisconsin's economy. He also gained
national attention for his leadership on welfare reform, expanded access
to health care and education for low-income people. As former Health and
Human Services Secretary, Gov. Thompson was the nation's leading advocate
for the health and welfare of all Americans. He was the 19th individual
to serve as Secretary of the department, which employed more than 60,000
personnel and had a fiscal year 2001 budget of $429 billion.
Governor Thompson is currently a partner at the Washington DC law firm
Akin Gump Strauss Hauer and Feld, LLP. He also serves as president of Logistics
Health Incorporated, and is the independent chairman for the Deloitte Center
for Health Solutions. Most recently Governor Thompson has assumed a new
role as Global Ambassador of the Global Network for Neglected Tropical
Diseases. This project is backed by a $3.8 Million Grant from the Gates
Foundation.
Governor Thompson holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Juris Doctorate
from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
David V. Milligan, Ph.D., Director
Dr. Milligan began his career at 3M Company in 1967 and retired from Abbott
Laboratories at the end of 1996 as Senior Vice President and Chief Scientific
Officer. During Dave’s 17 years there, he led the Diagnostics Products
Research and Development organization and later assumed responsibility
for global Pharmaceutical R&D.
Prior to joining Abbott, Dr. Milligan also held a variety of key management
positions with Xonics Medical Systems, Litton Dental Products, and Litton
Medical Systems as well as 3M Company. Dr. Milligan has been a director
of Diametrics Medical, Maxia (acquired by Incyte), Galileo Pharmaceuticals,
Vicuron (acquired by Pfizer) and ICOS Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Lilly).
Dave is currently a Principal with Bay City Capital and member of its Business
Advisory Board. In addition he currently serves as a director for Caliper
Life Sciences, Pathway Diagnostics, Reliant Pharmaceuticals (founded by
Bay City Capital and now being acquired by Glaxo Smith Kline) and WebLOQ
Inc.
In addition, Dr. Milligan is a member of Princeton University’s Chemistry
Department Advisory Board as well as the Chemical Sciences Leadership Council
of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Milligan graduated
from Princeton University in 1963 with an A.B degree in Chemistry (summa
cum laude). He then received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University
of Illinois in ’65 and ’67 respectively.
Robert K. Ditmore, Director
Bob Ditmore began his career with ten years at Stanford Research Institute
[SRI] where he was recruited by Dr. Paul Ellwood, the "father of the
HMO movement", to help form InterStudy, a non-profit Research Institute
patterned after SRI. InterStudy was used as a platform to study the national
health care system that led to the initial development of the HMO Industry
in the early 1970s.
In 1983 Bob founded Share Development Corp (SDC), a holding company which
formed and managed 6 HMO's in the mid-west. SDC was part of the "merger
of equals" to form United HealthCare. As a co-founder of United HealthCare
Corporation (UNH) in 1985, Bob served as President and Chief Operating
Officer through 1991 and as a Director through 1996. In 1993 Bob led the
HMO component at Primary Health, a privately held, venture capital-backed
HMO/Medical Group, where he was a Director and subsequently Chairman of
the Board. Currently, Bob is the Lead Director and Chairman of the Compensation
Committee of Centene Corporation, an NYSE listed managed HealthCare company
serving the Medicaid population in approximately 10 states.
